It will be a very special day!
The
whole day, from morning till night, is a day designed for good
wholesome company, Masons All! We will start the day at 8:00 am,
with Kendall Lodge 897 of Boerne, offering a Master Mason’s
Degree at Camp. Fully Tiled and set in a rugged outdoor forested
area of Camp, you will behold the Master’s Degree in a manner
reminiscent of the days of our western forefathers! A hearty
breakfast with juice and coffee will follow as the Chili
cook-off teams begin their registration.
It’s a day of Carnival rides, games, and fun things for the
kiddos while everyone meets the Alzafar performing units, as the
Camp Ladies sell crafts and prepare our afternoon meal of
hot-dogs and hamburgers. While the Stewards of Chili cook their
ware, all families are invited to enjoy the other facilities at
Camp. We have a kid’s play ground, hiking, swimming at our pool
and/or the beautiful Guadalupe River for rafting. Entering
up-river on Camp property, tubing the entire course of Camp can
be a 45 minute thrill and you never leave the property. Or, for
the more adventurous, you may want to travel to the Guadalupe
Ramp entrance on FM 474 and enjoy a 2 1/2 hour transverse of the
Guadalupe to Camp. All times will depend on river flow. |
Do you like to fish? We have several good fishing spots and a 48
pound whopper, of a cat-fish, was pulled out at camp just last
year. You will need a Texas Fishing License, which is available
at most convenience and Wal-Mart stores. Have you had a chance
to visit with some our performing units? They love to please and
look forward to meeting you! The world famous Alzafar Clowns
will be there to thrill the kids. How about we play a game of
Washers? Don’t know what that is; we’ll teach you. How about a
raw-egg toss with mom and dad? Are the kiddos getting tired yet?
Have them nap in our air conditioned recreation room. We also
have showers and dressing areas for changing in and out of
swimming suits. Around tea-time, the Chili Cook-off will be
ready for your testing and it will be your afternoon snack. We
ask you to vote for the “People Choice” best in show Chili
Award.
But don’t eat too much chili as the cooks are preparing our
evening meal of good old hometown Barbeque with all the fixings!
Join our Illustrious Potentate for his reception, just prior to
our evening meal. Tired of the Country life? Boerne has the
Rod-Run Classic Car Show covering most of Main Street, just 15
minutes away. Remember the muscle cars of yesteryear? They are
all there!
And, as the sun sets over the Guadalupe, and dinner is but a
recent memory; “Live Country Music” takes over the
entertainment. You wont sit still and everyone will dance the
night away to Texas Swing.
Hope to see you
there!
